Visit Stunning Nature and Game of Thrones Film Locations in Northern Ireland

Take your group on a day trip to the Giant’s Causeway, one of the most stunning sites on the north coast of Ireland and enjoy the breath-taking scenery that Northern Ireland has to offer as well as some of the Game of Thrones filming locations. Check out below the itinerary we can provide for your group with driver/guide already included:

06.30 hrs: Pick-up at your Dublin accommodation

10.15 hrs: Carrick-a-Rede & Larrybane Quarry

13.00 hrs: Giants Causeway

15.30 hrs: Dunluce Castle

19.30 hrs Drop-off at your Dublin accommodation

It will take all the courage you have to cross the famous 'Carrick-a-Rede' rope bridge as it is suspended 30 meters above a ravine. The bridge connects Ireland with the tiny island of Carrickarede and was originally built and used by fishermen during the salmon season. Before crossing it, allow yourself some time to take a pleasant walk from Larrybane Quarry, a Game of Thrones film location.

Your group will then head to the Giant's Causeway, one of Ireland’s greatest natural wonders. 50 million years ago, this formation of basalt columns was formed by volcanic eruptions. The causeway has many interesting spots you should definitely explore, such as the Giant's Boot, the Chimney Stacks, the Giant's Gate and the Honeycomb.

After two hours exploring the natural beauty of the Giant’s Causeway, your group will get again on the bus to go to visit the iconic ruins of Dunluce Castle. This 15th-century castle was once home to the MacDonnell clan and it’s known for giving inspiration to C.S. Lewis. Specifically, the castle of Cair Paravel from "The Chronicles of Narnia" is based on it. But that’s not where the pop culture connections stop: it was also a filming site for Game of Thrones and serves as the seat of House Greyjoy of the Iron Islands in the show.
