Causey Farm - Irish Culture Programmes

Causey Farm is a working farm run by the Murtagh family, which groups can visit for an authentic Irish experience. They can learn about Irish Culture the fun way.

Dance a jig, play the bodhran, cut turf in a bog, bake brown soda bread, see a sheep dog and lots more! Their group programmes are interactive and offer a hands on focus – visitors get to participate in all activities. This is a genuinely superb way for groups to immerse themselves in Irish culture.

Whether you're a sports team or a group of co-workers - the Causey Farm team building experience is superb for improving your team's communication as well as developing leadership skills and problem solving abilities!

For 2023 we are offering two group programmes at Causey Farm:

Be Irish for a day – Traditional Irish Culture

Full day programme for student groups includes:

• Making Irish soda bread
• Hurling lesson
• Trip to the bog on a tractor and trailer
• Traditional turf cutting
• Bodhrán workshop (traditional drum)
• Céilí dancing desson
• Farm visit and milking a cow
• Sheepdog demonstration
• Later in the day – for a snack, visitors can eat their own bread with jam and fruit juice.

Half day programme for student groups includes:

• Trip to the bog on the tractor and trailer
• Traditional turf cutting
• Bodhran class
• Ceili dancing lesson
• Farm visit and milking a cow
• Sheepdog demonstration
• Making Irish soda bread
