Causey Farm – Be Irish For a Full Day
On this Full Day Programme at Causey Farm, your group will experience rural Irish life and learn all about Irish culture in a hands-on way!
Learn to play the traditional Irish Bodhrán Drum, meet the farm animals, and make your own loaf of brown bread in this one-of-a-kind activity. You'll have heard of Ireland's stunningly green nature - here you can live it, even if just for a day!
Full day programme for student groups includes:
- Learning an Irish dance.
- A Bódhrán workshop (traditional Irish drum).
- Making brown bread.
- A hurling lesson.
- Meeting all the farm animals (hens, sheeps, cows, donkeys, pigs, herd of Connemara ponies, alpacas, goats, rabbits, geese, ducks and turkeys).
- Tractor and trailer ride to the bog (peatland).
- Bog-jumping (students will need to bring a set of old clothes that will be disposed of here after bog-jumping).
- Mineshaft tunnels.
It is advised to bring a packed lunch and drink for the day. CGH can arrange it for you.
