Causey Farm – Be Irish For a Full Day

Overview

On this Full Day Programme at Causey Farm, your group will experience rural Irish life and learn all about Irish culture in a hands-on way!

Learn to play the traditional Irish Bodhrán Drum, watch the sheepdogs, milk a cow and make your own loaf of Irish Soda Bread in this one-of-a-kind activity. You'll have heard of Ireland's stunningly green nature - here you can live it, even if just for a day. Don't forget to try one of Lily Murtagh's legendary scones!

Full day programme for student groups includes:

  • Making Irish soda bread
  • A hurling lesson
  • Trip to the bog on a tractor and trailer
  • Traditional turf cutting
  • Bodhrán workshop (Traditional Drum)
  • Céilí dancing lesson
  • Farm visit and milking a cow
  • Sheepdog demonstration
  • Later in the day – for a snack, visitors eat their own baked bread with jam and fruit juice.

If your time in Ireland is limited, why not check out the half-day programme at Causey Farm?
