Causey Farm – Be Irish For Half a Day
Enjoy the lush nature around you and learn all there is to know about Irish culture at Causey Farm, the family run working farm where groups can get a glimpse of authentic Irish country life.
Ride along on a tractor, take traditional Irish music and dance lessons and much more - Causey Farm offers a hands-on experience for groups of all ages!
Over the years, Causey Farm has welcomed groups from various backgrounds: German student groups, Finnish foresters, Chinese engineers, Australian Boy Scouts and American student ambassadors. So don't worry - there's something for everyone here!
Half day programme for student groups includes a choice between the following activities:
- Learning an Irish dance.
- A Bódhrán workshop (traditional Irish drum).
- Making brown bread.
- A hurling lesson.
- Meeting all the farm animals (hens, sheeps, cows, donkeys, pigs, herd of Connemara ponies, alpacas, goats, rabbits, geese, ducks and turkeys).
- Tractor and trailer ride to the bog (peatland).
- Bog-jumping (students will need to bring a set of old clothes that will be disposed of here after bog-jumping).
- Mineshaft tunnels.
Your group can choose whatever activities they like among the above on the day. Every group will make their own bread.
Not enough? Do you want to learn even more about the rural Irish life? Then the Causey Farm full day programme will be just what you're looking for!
