Explore Dublin Through the Eyes of Ireland's Most Famous Author
On this walking tour, famous Dublin Historian and Writer Pat Liddy will introduce you to Ireland's most famous author, James Joyce.
Follow in the footsteps of Leopold Bloom, the main character in Ulysses, and discover the Dublin that inspired Joyce. That Dublin of 1904 is, in many areas, still exactly the same but in other areas a little imagination will have to be applied. Quotations from Ulysses and explanations of the book and the life of Joyce will be given.
Note: A visit to the James Joyce Centre (small fee applies) is an option as is a visit to the extraordinary Sweny’s Pharmacy now a reading centre for Joyce’s works.
There are many tours and topics to explore with Pat Liddy - have a look at our overview. A great match to the James Joyce tour might be the more general Literary Tour of Dublin, covering many authors from the city.
