Experience the rugged landscape & breath-taking views of this famous North Dublin Coastal Village

Overview

Reconnect with nature while exploring one of Dublin’s best-kept secrets: the Irish fishing village of Howth. Hop on a dart train for the short journey northwards and escape the hustle and bustle of city life on this half-day guided walking tour around the picturesque peninsula of Dublin’s coastline with our partner Shane’s Howth Adventures, an award-winning family-run business.

Stumble across street trails, soak up your social media with breath-taking views and learn more about the UNESCO Biosphere that makes Howth so unique.

Why take my group on this half-day walking tour?

  • Only 30 minutes from Dublin by suburban train (what the Dubliner’s call the DART), Howth is very easily accessible from the city centre trains stations (Connolly, Tara or Pearse Street),
  • Get outdoors and take in the fresh sea air as you are met by your experienced guide in Howth and begin your tour of this pretty seaside village
  • This immersive walking tour is the perfect way to uncover the history of Howth and the importance the peninsula plays with nature
  • Lasting 2,5 hours, this tour takes you on an adventure in the footsteps of the Celts and the Vikings

After an adventurous tour, sit back and admire the colours, sounds and smells of Howth Harbour while looking out to sea.

TOP TIP:

At the end of your walk, make sure to grab some famous fish and chips from Beshoffs Bros shop then take a seat and watch the fishing boats come in and out of the small port. This is one of Donyah from CGH’s favourite things to do when she visits Howth. Beware, the seagulls may be as hungry as you are!

Another top tip from CGH - there is an array of lovely restaurants and bars located in Howth. We recommend visiting O’Connell’s Pub on the sea front with your group and enjoying a pint of the black stuff while you watch the world go past.

If your itinerary can fit in more time to explore Howth, we highly recommend you have a look at the full-day guided walking tour for a more in-depth discovery of the Howth coastline.
