After leaving Dublin, your group will head to the Rock of Cashel, also referred to as one of Ireland’s 7 Wonders. The Rock of Cashel is a spectacular complex of medieval buildings set on a hill in county Tipperary that was once the seat of the kings of Munster for hundreds of years. During their visit, your group will have a considerable amount of time to explore the Round Tower, the Cormack’s Chapel, the Cathedral and its Hall of Vicars, and the high crosses in the grounds around the buildings. We also recommend taking some time to enjoy the stunning views from the top of the hill.
After the Rock of Cashel, you will head to Blarney Castle in county Cork, an exquisite Scottish Baronial house built around 600 years ago with an outstanding view of the Blarney Lake. Your group will also have the opportunity to climb the 127 steps to the Blarney Stone which, according to the legend, gives the “gift of the gab” to everyone who kisses it. Be aware, this is only for visitors who are not afraid of heights!
On the way back to Dublin, your group will visit Cahir Castle, one of the largest castles in Ireland, which was once the fortress of the powerful Butler family. The castle is still well preserved and is located on an island in the river Suir.
Is your group also interested in modern Irish history? Then we highly recommend a visit to Northern Ireland's Belfast City and its Titanic Experience.
