A typical tour of the Wicklow Mountains includes a West Wicklow Scenic drive,a visit and guided tour of Glendalough and around the ruined monastery, that dates back to the 13th century, the enchanting “Valley of the Two Lakes”.  A scenic drive will take groups through areas of mountain blanket bogs, sandy beaches and spectacular waterfalls among sweeping green glens and forests.

Baltinglass Abbey, the first stop on the itinerary for 2021 - the journey will begin southwards, travelling up past Blessington Lakes and stopping at Baltinglass. The Abbey was founded in the 12th Century by Dermot Mac-Murrough, the then King of Leinster. This is an incredible ruin with a mixture of Cistercian and Irish Romanesque architecture. The arches are the Abbeys most famous features with alternative round and square pillars. Exploring the ruins tourist visitors can discover the intricate carvings.

Tours can be tailored on request and visits to Glendalough visitor centre or Powerscourt House and Gardens can be included for an additional charge - contact us for details.
