A Fantastic Exhibition on Sustainable Living
Cork’s Old Victorian Waterworks Building hosts a unique exhibition on sustainable living, especially water preservation. The steam centre features boilers, engines and other original equipment from the early 20th century, where your group can learn how Cork was supplied with Water in the past.
The Waterworks Building was responsible for Cork’s water supply for the past centuries and was used as a warehouse for 30 years between the end of its official duties and its restoration as an exhibition space. The building is the most well preserved of its kind in Ireland.
Science workshops are offered for primary school groups, teaching about water conservation efforts on both a large and small everyday scale.
