Lewis Glucksman Gallery in Cork
The Lewis Glucksman Gallery is a cultural and educational institution that promotes the research, creation and exploration of the visual arts.
This award-winning gallery in the grounds of University College Cork (UCC) is a startling limestone, steel and timber construction that was the most visible symbol of Corkonian optimism when it opened in 2004. Its sense of purpose is to display the best in both national and international contemporary art and installation.
The gallery’s location in the university grounds means it’s always buzzing with people coming to attend lectures, view the artwork, visit the gallery shop or enjoy a drink or meal in the cafe.
The Lewis Glucksman Gallery is named in honour of Dr Lewis Glucksman, a successful investment banker and renowned philanthropist who with his wife, Loretta Brennan Glucksman, generously supported cultural and educational projects in Ireland and the US.
