Explore the River Liffey and the Attractions Alongside It
Explore Dublin’s riverside on this refreshing walking tour with famous Dublin historian Pat Liddy, whose entertaining and informative walking tours have been a staple for tourists seeing the city for years.
As you walk along both sides of the River Liffey as it flows towards the harbour and the open sea you will learn about Dublin's history. It is here where great 18th century architecture and 19th century engineering and docks stand alongside modern 21st century commercial and cultural buildings. You will also see the graffiti wall dedicated to the rock band, U2.
The gaunt figures of the Famine Memorial will give you an insight into the past horror of the Great Hunger or Irish Potato Famine of the 1840s as will the replica Tall Ship the ‘Jeanie Johnson’, which carried hundreds of Irish emigrants to Quebec in Canada during this time.
The tour ends close to a large inner harbour beyond which are the European headquarters of many international IT companies.
