Overview

What is the Irish Music Workshop?

Are you passionate about Irish music and would like to have a go at it and try to play one of their traditional instruments? Then, this Irish Music Workshop is perfect for your educational group. It is an interactive way to immerse your students in Ireland's rich culture while learning to play two iconic instruments: the Bodhrán (Irish drum) and the Tin Whistle. This experience combines music, history, and first-hand learning in a relaxed, enjoyable environment.

What can your group expect during this experience?

  • The workshop is held in Na Fianna GAA Club, and it's a daytime experience of 2 hours.
  • First, you'll get a quick but fascinating history lesson about Irish music and where it comes from. The instructors will tell you the story of the main Irish instruments and show you some video footage.
  • Now, it's your turn! Your students will be taught the basics of the Bodhrán and Tin Whistle, two instruments at the core of Irish folk traditions for generations.
  • Once you've learnt the basics, it's time to show your talents and play some music together.
  • This experience is suitable for all skill levels and is a unique opportunity for your student group to learn, play, and enjoy Irish music all at once.

Who is your instructor?

Your group will be led by expert musicians passionate about their culture and looking forward to sharing their knowledge with you. The friendly and patient instructors will guide your group on this journey and make you fall in love with Irish culture.

Top Tip:
