Ride the Waves on the Wild Atlantic Way
Our Burren Hostel (Sleepzone) is close to one of the most famous beaches in Ireland that is known for its great surfing opportunities: Fanore Surfing beach. Under careful supervision of the Aloha Surfing School instructors, your group can brave the Atlantic Ocean waves and go surfing far away from cliché palm beaches. All instructors at Aloha are certified beach lifeguards, so you’ll be in good hands. Not only will the lesson teach your group all the basics about surfing, they will also learn about beach etiquette, safety and some facts about the ocean!
The village of Fanore is situated on the west coast of north Co. Clare. Its sandy beach is referenced in its Gaelic name "fainne oir", meaning ring of gold.
This beach within close distance to the hostel is the perfect place to learn to surf and enjoy the wild Atlantic Ocean.
Is your group still hungry for some outdoor adventures? Why not take a trip to the Killary Adventure Centre in Connemara for some fun land- and water-based activities such as rock climbing or kayaking in the Killary Fjord then?
