The Burren Smokehouse

The Burren Smokehouse is a family-run business that was set up in 1989 by Birgitta & Peter Curtin.
The visitor centre was established in 1995, to create a window for their products and other local gourmet products and crafts. It has become a very popular tourist attraction in the north County Clare area and welcomes over 30,000 visitors from all over the world each year.
A visit includes a short DVD presentation about the smoking process, hands-on demonstration and an explanation of the smoking techniques – and of course a chance to taste their famous smoked salmon!
