Take That, Dublin!

Take That, Dublin!

Earlier this month, Nicola in our office was being teased about going to the Take That concert in Croke Park, Dublin this weekend.  Now it turns out that EVERYONE in the office is going, along with husbands, boyfriends, kids, mammies and grannies!

So now we’re fessing up: we’re Celtic Group Hostels and we can’t wait for the Take That concert!!

Yes, we were tweeting live from the fantastic Kings of Leon concert in Slane a few weeks ago, but Take That is a trip down memory lane for us – we loved them first time around, and come on, who didn’t fancy Robbie Williams back in the 90s?

The Croke Park gigs this Saturday and Sunday are part of the Progress Tour, which includes a 20-meter tall mechanical man, Shaolin monks, surreal dancers, a wall of water, some Robbie solos – not to mention the on-stage reunion of the band – can’t wait! Check out the full line-up and progress of the stage build.

Croke Park is a great venue – apart from being a top-notch setting for gigs, it’s steeped in Irish history and culture and was on the itinerary for Queen Elizabeth’s recent Dublin visit; the Museum is worth a visit to learn more.

Getting to Croke Park

There is some really helpful info in this official safety notice, including transport and routes. However, if you’re staying in a Dublin Celtic hostel, then you’re walking distance from Croke Park, and we recommend walking to soak up the electrifying atmosphere along the way.

The atmosphere in our Dublin hostels is already buzzing today, as fans arrive for the gig. We’ll be posting live on Facebook and Twitter from the concert, so follow us to virtually enjoy it, if you’re not one of the lucky 80,000 fans there on the night!
