The Gaelic Games Experience (Go Gaelic) in County Galway

Overview

Our top sports in Ireland are Gaelic Football, Hurling and Handball – very different to rugby and football and unique in Ireland. Our games are organised by the Gaelic Atheltic Association (GAA).

There’s no better way of experiencing them than actually trying them by yourself, with our partner “Go Gaelic” that offers a practical coaching session in Hurling and Gaelic Football on a completely fun level. It’s a three hour package but it can be easily tailor-made to suit your time requirements.

The three hour session includes:

  • Audio-Visual presentation of the rules and regulations
  • Physical demonstration of gear and equipment
  • Questions and Answers Forum
  • Coaching introduction to Hurling and Gaelic Football
  • Fun games to utilise your coaching experience
  • Prizes, certificates and photo opportunity.

This session guarantees great fun and it’s a great way for your group to take part in something uniquely Irish!

Regarding the Gaelic Games lesson for groups, we get asked a lot of questions and below you can find the most important answers.

Good to know: Don’t worry, your group doesn’t have to be very sporty. The Gaelic Games lesson is more about team work, having fun together and bonding. It’s a great way to foster your group’s team spirit!

  • How would the games session work?

Firstly groups are introduced to our unique games that are Gaelic Football, Hurling and Handball. They are shown videos of the rules and regulations and explained how to use gear and equipment properly. A questions and answers forum is also included. The groups are then taught the three Irish sports. The activities are great fun – after they are taught the basics of each sport, the organisers will play mini matches with the group.

  • What does the group need?

All you need to bring is a pair of running shoes, a tracksuit or shorts and t-shirt and of course, plenty of enthusiasm.

  • What is provided?

All equipment required including hurleys, helmets & footballs; sufficient coaching staff and audio-visual aids; insurance cover in case of accident or injury; refreshments, certificates and prizes; complimentary photos of session to share with your group.
