Architectural Tours Ireland was set up in 2010 to provide informative and engaging walking tours on Ireland’s built environment. They wish to showcase Ireland’s architectural icons and achievements.
Their enthusiastic guides are architects, architectural graduates and urban specialists who have all attended a guide training course specifically designed for Architecture Tours Ireland.
Their walking tours take in a variety of historic and modern architecture and can be tailor made to the interest of each specific group. Popular tours are:
- Dublin Docklands – exploring the maritime history and architecture. Tour highlights include the Convention Centre, Sean O’Casey Bridge, The Custom House, Grand Canal Theatre, Alto Vetro, Samuel Beckett Bridge
- Temple Bar – bustling quarter for living, entertainment and culture. Tour highlights inlcude Temple Bar Gallery and Studio, The Central Bank of Ireland, Irish Film Institute, The Wooden Building and Umbrellas Project.
- Georgian Dublin – where much of the medieval city was rebuilt. Tour highlights include Leinster House, Department of Finance, College Green, Trinity College.
- The Living City – experience Dublin’s parks, squares & markets. Tour highlights include Timberyard Social Housing, Timberyard Tour, and One, Castle Street.
Private tours can be organised any day and time of the year.
