Belfast City – Full Day Coach Tour from Dublin – 11 hours

Overview

Groups coming to Ireland on their school trip can't miss the opportunity to visit Belfast, in Northern Ireland. This package day trip is very popular and ideal for groups who would like to have a taste of this city and a general overview of Ireland's modern political history.

What's included for your group on this day trip?

  • Pick-up at your Dublin accommodation by a modern coach (driver only).
  • Political overview tour on the coach only by a step-on English-speaking guide in Belfast city (1.5 hrs), giving some insider tips and knowledge to the group.

  • Free time to explore the sights & activities of Belfast at your group's leisure (3.5 - 4 hours).

Check below the itinerary timings that your group will follow on their day trip to Belfast:

08:00 hrs: Depart Dublin

10:30 hrs: Titanic Quarter

11:00 hrs: Political commentary of Belfast by a step-on English-speaking guide (on the coach)

12:30 hrs: Free Time Belfast

16:30 hrs: Depart Belfast

19:00 hrs: Return to Dublin

Note - The order of the stops may vary.

Leave Dublin behind for the day and head north with your group to visit Belfast City, the capital of Northern Ireland. To allow your group more time to explore the city, the coach will take you straight to Belfast from Dublin (with just a short comfort stop en route only).

Once you arrive, an English-speaking guide will "step on" the coach with your group and give you a general commentary about Belfast history while the coach drives around the city, passing places like the infamous Peace Wall in West Belfast. This 25ft wall divides the Loyalist community from the Republican community. Loyalists are those who are loyal to the Queen of England and wish to keep Northern Ireland as part of the United Kingdom; Republicans ultimately want a united Ireland and the removal of the British claim to the island's northern region.

You'll also head to east Belfast, home of the Harland & Wolff shipyard and, of course, the birthplace of the famous RMS Titanic (photo stop only).

If your group would like to visit Titanic Belfast, we recommend booking the Belfast City Day Tour inclusive of a visit to Titanic Experience.

Then, you'll continue into the city centre for plenty of free time before returning to Dublin.

Tip:

Please note that coaches are not allowed into the direct housing estates of the Falls and Shankill roads (they are living communities). This trip is meant for groups who have a general interest in Belfast. If your group really wants to delve deeper into these areas and learn more about Irish politics, we highly recommend booking a coach for the day and one of the local guided tours we offer, like one of Coiste Political Walking Tours or a Black Taxi Tour, so that you will have a complete and more in-depth knowledge of Belfast political history.
