Guinness: Favourite of Royalty and Presidents!

Guinness Storehouse: Favourite of Royalty and Presidents!

Follow in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth II – and over 1,000,000 visitors annually – to the Guinness Storehouse. Learn the secrets of creating and pouring the perfect pint of the black stuff, the long history of the Guinness product and the fascinating family behind it.

Best of all, the bird’s eye view of Dublin City from the Gravity Bar at the top of the Guinness Storehouse is so spectacular that, when it was impractical for Queen Elizabeth II to visit the whole city, she was given a ‘virtual’ tour from there. The captivating story of the emblematic beverage unfolds over the seven floors of the Guinness Storehouse, culminating in a free pint (over-18s only) of the black stuff itself in the Gravity Bar.

Top Tip

As the most popular visitor attraction in Ireland, there are often long queues to enter, so pre-book your tickets to sail smugly past those waiting in line and get stuck straight in to learning all there is to know about Guinness – not to mention tasting it!

For groups, booking ahead also gets you a brief introductory tour before embarking on the self-guided visit, and of course, booking through Celtic Hostels gets you the lowest prices around!

Once inside, you can stay as long as you want, before making your way up to the spectacular Gravity Bar. Master Brewer Fergal Murray, who recently poured the perfect pint for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, is your virtual guide on the tour, which includes great exhibits on brewing, cooperage, marketing and more. You can also learn how to pour the perfect pint – and get a certificate to prove it!

If all that learning, pouring and tasting makes you hungry, the Brewery Bar serves a great range of dishes, including our favourite, Guinness Stew (what else?).

The most powerful person in the western world said last week that the Guinness is better in Ireland, so where better to sample it than at the top of the pint-shaped Guinness Storehouse?
